The beauty of spring - flowers on trees, and a robin's pin cushion

Nearly 2,000 years ago the Romans built a group of fortifications overlooking the North York Moors, at Cawthorne, near Pickering. An easy walk around the fortifications mounds and nearby woodland is breathtaking, even on a February afternoon - well worth a detour, oh and parking is free. See North Yorks Moors Authority website for more details and a downloadable map @Pickering, North York Moors Rather than take the usual route down and up the road to the beach, we love taking the back alleyways, just as quick and querky! @robin hoods bay No snow in Whitby today just beautiful blue skies. Explored Pannett Park (just opposite St Hilda's Apartment), and found Kupe (legendary navigator in mythology) and snowdrops in the South Seas Garden. @St Hilda's Holiday Apartment, Whitby |
